  • "We loved our time here. Thank goodness we chose to stay away from the city in this wonderful hotel. The redone rooms are wonderful. Love the coffee in the morning, wine in the afternoon, yoga on some mornings, wonderful walks with ... More
views, apples, beach chairs, nice people. Just enjoyed our stay. Plus the valet and front desk were always there and extremely helpful.
I know some people said the one elevator bothered them but it wasn't a problem for us at all. Neither was the restaurant being under renovation - probably because we like to explore a bit. I will say that this hotel in general and the hotel where the beach is are both under renovation. We spent most of our time on the north shore so it didn't affect us and I do think it is reflected in their price. The value for the really well done rooms was great. Close

m after dinner). They offer complimentary morning coffee and afternoon wine in the lobby and the down appointed bedding was great. Even the pillow didn't give me a neck ache (like many hotel pillows do) and the service was superb. The next time we have a wine dinner at Michel's or even The Kahala, we'll book a room again... or maybe even without a wine dinner! Close

vating for a couple weeks one room at a time, so it will look even nicer soon, with hardwood floors, etc. Also loved they had a speaker system for your ipod/iphone, dvd player in the room, coffee and tea in the am in the lobby, great tasting wine from 4-6pm every day. These extras made me a loyalist for this hotel for the next trip to Waikiki. Also is quieter from the whole bustle of the main stretch, yet 5-10 min walking to all the action. The beach is also more private too. We had 2 balconies on the corner facing Diamond Head. Nice breeze for fresh air....can't say enough for this boutique feel hotel! Close

t's all the little things that make the difference. Our last day there they were renovating the rooms below us and we barely new anything was going on, there was no interuption to our amenity at all. With Kiamana beach at your door and Kapiolani park across the road this hotel provides you with a more authentic stay in Hawaii than other hotels in the heart of Waikiki and the walk in is in itself a plesurable experience. Thanks again to all the staff, I will be bringing my family back sometime soon I hope, Mahalo Close

L during my entire two-week stay at this hotel. Even the hotel manager, Josh, went above and beyond my expectations by extending me certain ammenities that made my reason for being here (business) even MORE perfect than it already was! Honestly, I would stay here again JUST BECAUSE OF THE HOTEL STAFF! They were always willing to help and always friendly throughout the duration. Very down to earth people with a friendly disposition. I love the Aqua Lotus (at Diamond Head; Honolulu) and will absolutely keep them in mind the next time I go to Hawaii! This place was sooooooooo much better than the place I stayed at last year...and most of the reason why is because of the people who work here at the hotel.

You can't go wrong with staying at this hotel. The beds are ridiculously comfortable; the balconies are very nice; the amenities are extremely adequate (if not better than adequate); the hotel staff is absolutely top-notch; and the location is perfect...especially if you want a nice, quiet place to stay. It's a little bit (1/4 mile) outside of Waikiki, which makes things much more quieter and enjoyable in my opinion. I love the Aqua Lotus and hope they'll remember me the next time I come to Hawaii! • "--Staff was super helpful and friendly
--Room was very clean and nicely appointed
--We liked that the hotel is small and on the quiet end of Waikiki: this is NOT a mega-resort so don't expect the onsite spas, restaurants, ... More
fitness facilities etc. No pool or restaurant on-site
--Nice touches include the free morning coffee, evening wine, beach chair check-out, and turndown service
--Not directly oceanfront, but only one building in from the beach, so only a few hundred feet from the water.
--Price seemed reasonable for location, we booked an oceanview room thru hotel website, and were pleased to be on the top floor, lower floors would not afford as good a view I think
    --Good sized balcony
--Very comfortable beds (but note that the 2-bed rooms have 2 full, not queen, beds. Close

  • "I travel a LOT for work and am picky about hotels. I LOVED the Aqua Lotus. And they define what "boutique" should mean.

    ul and always cheerful.

I love the location because its away from the touristy heart of Waikiki.

My room was nice. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The lanai was a great place to both relax and to work from. The TV was older, but if you're coming to Hawai`i to watch tv then I have no words for you. Bathroom was nice and updated - lots of room around the sink for products and the shower water pressure was outstanding. Only minor complaint was that the internet was slow - they may have a speed limit as most hotels do. But i had my mifi card as backup. Housekeeping was nice and if they saw me early in the day, they would ask what time I wanted my room cleaned.

There is no fitness center on this property, but luckily, you're right by the ocean for amazing swims and runs, and the hotel lends out bikes and has yoga several days a week.

I also appreciated that they had beach mats and chairs to lend out, along with towels. Most hotels only have towels!

The nightly wine hour and coffee/tea in the morning are a nice touch. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't open yet, but I did go the 30 steps next door to the New Otani for some good food.

I'll be back there in a couple months for work and will definitely try to stay at the Aqua Lotus again! Close
